macbook pro screen only works at a certain angle

i have the midlate 2016 macbook pro 13in w touchbar and all of a sudden the screen just stopped working properly. it only works at about a 45 degree angle, if i push it back any further the screen goes black. the keyboard and everything else works its just the screen thats not functioning properly i believe? anyone know the issue or how much it might cost to resolve this? i dont have apple care and the warranty has been over for a while.

It's a known issue with the 2016-2017 models (search for "flexgate"). Check to see if your display has the Anti-Reflective coating issue as described here. If you have even the tiniest bit of delamination (typically found around the camera) then you may be eligible for the free repair program. Otherwise it will probably cost close to $450-$500 with parts & labor. It's possible Apple could someday create a free repair program to address this particular issue and you would be reimbursed for the repair, but there is no guarantee Apple will offer such a repair program. You can take it to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple repair center for a more accurate estimate.
