Macbook Pro Keyboard - Command Key worn out after 3 months!

Really impressed with the performance of my top-spec Macbook Pro 15 inch, but in less than three months the command key has worn through in the center. The black coating in the center of the key has worn through to the white translcent plastic key in a quarter inch circle. I guess I hit that key very often in Adobe's graphic apps and use the side of my thumb, so maybe the side edge of my fingernail hits it.

What's strange is that my old 2016 13 inch Macbook Pro with the old keyboard still looks flawless - even after 3 years of heavy use. Why are the new laptop keyboards so poorly made? And why does the shorter key travel feel so much more inferior?

Please Apple - go back to the older technology keyboards for your next model - I don't care if it makes the laptop 1mm thicker!
