Preference Error: Could not load Desktop & Screen Saver preference pane.

Hey guys,

After upgrading to 10.14.3 I can't access Desktop & Screen Saver preference panel anymore. When I try I get this error:

Preference Error: Could not load Desktop & Screen Saver preference pane.

When that happen, system.log triggers this message:

Mar 24 18:55:41 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.preference.desktopscreeneffect.desktop.remoteservice[1542]): Service exited due to SIGABRT

Signal abort (SIGABRT) is code an app crashes with when an a fatal error is thrown and not handled. Most likely something wrong with your storyboard or nib or info.plist

I would try deleting/ or moving/ or renaming the com.apple.systempreferences.plist

You can move this to your desktop in the event you want to "put it back"

from the Finder>Go>Go To Folder, copy &paste:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist

Relaunch the Finder >Force Quit>Finder>Relaunch

or

Reboot and test to see if this resolves the issue.
