Apple TV screensavers won’t activate after set Timer

Apple TV screensaver is no longer working. Noticed while listening to Pandora, and not touching the remote for a while, the screensaver was no longer activating. Then started noticing that this is true for any application. It used to work. I played around with the settings... tried changing from Aerial photos to Apple photos, tried changing the activation time from 5 minutes to 2 minutes. Rebooted the system. The screensaver will not start. I am able to force start the screensaver by selecting Preview, in screensaver settings, as well as forcing it to start from the main menu screen. The screensaver will not start on its own after specified period of inactivity. Previous to it no longer working, the settings were not changed. (In settings, it IS set to start with music & podcasts.)

i have 7 Apple TV in my home. Originally just one was doing this and I replaced it and that fixed the problem. Now others are doing the same thing. They are all just over two years old.

Hopefully with some troubleshooting can determine if this is hardware or software related. All of the units have been updated to latest software versions

Apple TV 4, tvOS 12
