Little cloud symbol with arrow

Hi,

Just bought a MacBook and downloading apps on my laptop. I press GET and an app downloads, then appears a blue cloud with an arrow pointing down, I click it again and a loading spinning thing appears and then the blue cloud re-appears.

please help!!!!

macOS 12.0.1 App Store Issue (14" MacBook Pro) I have a new MacBook Pro 14, updated to 12.0.1. The macOS App Store is not allowing any app updates or app downloads. When you click on the Get button for a new app, it changes to the circle with the square in the middle, and just spins. When you click update on an existing app, it just flashes UPDATE over and over. I have restarted and shut down several times with no luck. Has anyone run across this?

Hi Taylor__Maree - you are right: Yes, that is the symbol inviting you to download the app in question from Apple ('s store) to your computer.

Usually you will see indication of the progress of the download like a speedometer going from '12 o'clock' round to '11:59' and then at '12 o'clock' again you should see 'Open' showing that your update/download/installation is complete and successful.

If, though, the app in question is perhaps one of these apps, there is a malfunction at the moment, which Apple is working on. Suggest retrying later. good luck!
