AppleTV Restrictions Passcode displays on screen

Hi...I've set up parental controls restrictions on my AppleTV. The only problem is that when I enter the passcode it displays as a dot in the entry box; however, you can see the cursor moving from number to number. With a tech-savvy 11-year old in the house, it renders the passcode useless. I head that you could enter the passcode from the AppleTV remote app, but the same thing happened on the screen. Help! Is there any way to set it so the cursor movement from number-to-number cannot be seen?
