Messages sounds in macOS Mojave
Where is the Sounds folder located for Messages in macOS Mojave? Is it possible to add/delete sounds from this folder?

The "Messages" app's alerts are located in the "System" folder at the top of your hard drive, at the following path:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ToneLibrary.framework/Versions/A/Resources/AlertTones/
And the "Messages" app's ringtones are likewise located in the "System" folder at the top of your hard drive, at the following path:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ToneLibrary.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Ringtones/
As you can see, both the "AlertTones" folder and the "Ringtones" folder are enclosed in the "Resources" folder.
While you can try to add your own sounds to these folders, they will be ignored by the system.
The only way for them to be recognized, seems to be if you create an audio file in the same format, and then give it the same name as one of the system default alerts or ringtones. You would then have to store the original Alert sound or Ringtone in a safe place, and substitute it with your own. You may possibly have to reboot your computer in order for them to take effect.
