How can I move sounds and settings between Macs

Presets are a feature of a particular app. You need to consult with the developer to determine if settings are contained in a discreet file or imbedded in the app itself and the best way to transfer them. Some one here may be a user of the app, but I'd think you'd get faster info by asking the developer than hoping someone here knows the answer. YMMV.

Are the presets all you want to transfer? They may or may not be discrete file. Files you can use Migration Assistant or copy and paste using Finder and external such as a flash drive or portable hard drive or SSD.

What exactly do you want to migrate and what exactly do you not want to migrate?

By sounds do you mean music? What you migrate to a new machine is files and settings, you can't transfer sounds. Sounds are created by each computer.

I like Apple's built-in transfer system: migration assistant.

Don't attempt to use wireless. Wireless fails a very high percentage of the time.
