My Shazam’s not updating in Apple Music

I have a paid Apple Music membership in good standing. For some reason, my Shazam’s are no longer updating in the My Shazam playlist. In fact, it’s more than that. I currently have 410 songs in My Shazam. I noticed that there were only about half that amount in the playlist on Apple Music, so I followed some advice I found in online forums and disconnected Apple Music from Shazam, deleted the playlist, restarted my iPhone (8 Plus) and then reconnected Apple Music To Shazam. I checked about an hour later and now there were only 30 songs in the playlist. I gave it some time and checked again, still only 30. So, I repeated the process. This time, I left it alone for the night, thinking that perhaps opening the playlist interrupted the updating somehow. When I checked in the morning, 73 songs had made it over that time—still a long cry from the 410 tracks in My Shazam or even the 200 and something that were in the Apple Music playlist before I tried any of this. My wi-fi signal is strong, with no problems. What could be causing this and how do I fix it, without risking the loss of all ‘My Shazam’ tracks? Thanks.

Hi dannylasvegas,

Thanks for the follow-up. Have you made sure your iOS software and all of your apps are updated? I recommend checking under Settings > General > About; if you're not running iOS 12.2, updating is a great next step: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once you ensure your iOS is updated, open the App Store and tap Updates to make sure everything is updated to see if this helps.

Cheers.

Hi dannylasvegas,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you're running into some issues with the Shazam app and Apple Music.

To clarify, outside of this issue, does Apple Music seem to be working as expected?

Are you able to manually add songs back to your Shazam playlist? I recommend giving that a try using the steps here, and any additional troubleshooting steps you haven't tried as well: Shazam And Apple Music

I hope this helps get you started.

Kind regards.

Thanks for your response. Yes, Apple Music is working fine, outside of this issue. I can manually add songs to the My Shazam playlist, but they don’t update automatically. Like I mentioned, I now have 411 songs in ‘My Shazam’, but only about half of those were in the My Shazam playlist on Apple Music. Since I started attempting to update the playlist, a different number of songs end up transferring over every time. The first, only 30 songs ended up in the playlist. The second, I think it was 73. After trying several times, I now have 276 that made it over. I’ve tried everything: disconnecting Shazam from Apple Music and reconnecting it again, deleting the playlist as well as disconnecting/reconnecting, deleting the Shazam app and redownloading it, etc. It’s getting really frustrating. The link you provided does not lead to troubleshooting steps, just “features”. There was nothing helpful there.
