how do insert current date and time in numbers?

I'm trying to log my time spent on a project. I created the formula "now" but that keeps changing.

I once used services, but I can't remember how I did it.

After researching online, I tried to find it in my system preferences by keyboard-shorcuts-text but it's not there.

I'm currently running High Sierra.

You can do this either via this Today Automator Service (Dropbox download), which you use by clicking once in a cell and choosing Today from the Numbers > Services menu. Make sure Automator.app and Numbers.app are listed and checked at System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility.

Or you can use the built-in capability in your menu at Insert > Date & Time. To use that you need to first double-click in a cell until the cursor flashes, then make the menu choice.
