how do I test to see if the bluetooth on my old MacBook works if my usb and trackpad are broken?

old MacBook trackpad and USB port are hopelessly broken. Need to find out if it’s Bluetooth works so I can use a Bluetooth mouse to use the MacBook . Can’t afford new one now.

The 2012 MacBook Pro comes with two USB 3 ports. You're saying both are not working, in addition to, the trackpad?


To test to see if Bluetooth is enabled on your notebook, enter the following command in the Terminal app:

  • defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist ControllerPowerState


A result of: 0 = off and 1 = on
