Hello again! I've been travelling and not able to focus on this.

Thank you for your support and expertise! I really appreciate it!

We are indeed talking about a mid 2009 MBP.

The Saffire driver is from my external audio interface.

I will use a different user for the next week or so and come back.

The thing is I remembered that the problems started after I had a RAM upgrade, years ago.

Is it possible the RAM freq. difference to trigger that?

The upgraded RAM were some normal RAM chips, not Apple RAM.

Since your last answer I changed those with Corsair MAC Memory.

And here we are again.

I am putting here the latest hieroglyphs :P this reset brought me.

Thanks for the followup. That changes things. Hold off on buying new RAM for now--it could be something else if the RAM has worked this long.

What Mac OS version are you running? From the report I think you have OS 10.11--appropriate to a Mid 2009 MacBook Pro-- but I want to verify.

I noticed in the listing of kernel extensions ("kexts" in the report) these items:

com.paceap.kext.pacesupport.snowleopard 5.8
com.kairos.driver.DuetDisplay 1
com.hzsystems.terminus.driver 4
tc.tctechnologies.driver.Saffire 4.3.0 41017

All are suspect. The paceapp extension says it is for Snow Leopard and that went obsolete almost seven years ago. Out-of-date software can create trouble. I tried looking up Saffire and could not find anything. The fact that these show up at the top of a list that is otherwise alphabetical makes me think they are involved. If you do not need them, get rid of them.

A useful diagnostic for things like this is to create a new user account just for testing. If you can use that account without kernel panics then the issue is software, not hardware and is associated with something in your main account, not the test acct. Like the four items I flagged above.

Those are exactly the ones Alan Jones mentioned above:

Duet display was introduced recently, but your Mac was vintage long ago. It is possible it was not tested in this configuration.

It is very unusual to see a Vendor's Driver for a Mac graphics card. (saffire). The Mac driver is adequate for all normal purposes.

i could not even figure out what terminus was all about.

Apr 18, 2019 1:25 AM in response to Grant Bennet-Alder

Dear both,

I found the following two:

com.kairos.driver.DuetDisplay 1
com.hzsystems.terminus.driver 4

The infamous terminus appears to cause these panics for many people and nobody knows why it's there and what it does.

hzsystems.com was weird surprise, but i found their company, in US. And along with it it's location Library/Extensions under a file with a different name, of course.

The DuetDisplay's location I got from the its developer.

Now, I am in trials. New 1066 memory is arriving today. Hopefully this is going to end.

Much appreciated your effort and time!

I'll be back to you with updates!

Have a good one!

Cristian
