That is the right turn symbol for the Map App. Go to your iPhone and sweep up on the face and then sweep up on open Apps. You will find your Map App as one of the open Apps. After you do that, check your Watch. The white dot with the arrow will be gone.
That was in fact my last option, and rebooting the watch did fix the issue. I believe you were both accurate on the issue. For some reason, after using maps, that symbol remains in my status indicator. However, closing out the maps app on my phone does not resolve the problem. The only way to resolve it is to power off the watch, and reboot it. This has happened before, not sure why. Thanks for the responses.
Julie and Sean - Thank you both for your help!
White dot with arrow in status???
Sounds like you have your MAP App on .
no - not the maps symbol
You have directions still active on your maps. Close the app as suggested
tried that - no change
On your iPhone? That’s where maps are. Close the maps on the iPhone not the Watch
I have closed all apps - even powered off the iPhone - then rebooted it - even made sure the maps app is not active on watch - still got the arrow symbol at the status indicator - got me stumped!
Ok just check your updated to 5.2 and your iPhone is running iOS 12.2
also you have to end route on maps before closing the app
Good advice.
Both updates were done - however, you may very well have given me the answer I needed. I might not have hit the “End Route” button after last using maps - thanks again.
No worries. Glad we might have the solution!
