When I tap the onscreen white shutter button to take a photo, it may or may not work. This is very frustrating as the perfect picture is often elusive, right? Sometimes I tap it five times and maybe it will work. But maybe not. I've had my phone for about a month and it has been this way since I started using it. Is this a bug? How can it be fixed?

Thanks for the information. Is the screen unresponsive in the same location while using other apps, or is it just Camera? If it's just the Camera app, then please follow the steps below:
If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open
If it's happening with other apps too, then please Contact Apple Support.

No, that wasn’t the solution. I just figured it out. If my thumb is anywhere on the screen, like in the black area at the bottom of the screen while taking a portrait shot, the shutter button won’t work. It will only work if I’m holding the phone by the edges. Makes sense. Thank you very much.
