"iTunes", the programme that is installed on a computer, cannot be put onto any iPod, old or new.

If you mean "will an iPod nano be recognised by iTunes (on my computer) and can I use iTunes to add music from my iTunes Library to my iPod nano?", then yes, you can.

However, you should be aware that Apple Music* cannot be added to an iPod nano.

* Apple Music is effectively a streaming service, where music is stored online and sent to an iOS device (that is, an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) as it is being played. An iPod nano requires a copy of the music to be stored on the iPod itself in order to play. The latest version of iTunes will copy music stored on your computer to the nano.
