An error occurred during activation of facetime/imessage on my mac(OS Mojave)

Every time I login to my appleid.apple.com it successfully accepts it. But on FaceTime 'an error occurred during activation' is coming

iMessage and Facetime "error during activation" I get an "error during activation" when I try to sign onto to iMessage and Facetime on my iMac running Mojave. I've tried turning off Apple's Firewall, Sophos anti-virus, and my VPN. It still doesn't work. I can sign onto my Apple ID fine, and so it is not my password or account. I've looked around for other suggestions but found none that worked. Should I somehow delete both iMessages and Facetime and re-install? Or delete any library preferences that I find with "imessage" or "facetime" in the file name?

iMessage and Facetime Activation Errors After repeated attempts, over several days, unable to activate iMessage and FaceTime on my 2017 MacBook Air 13" running Mojave version 10.14.3. Can access internet and other Apple applications with my Apple ID and password. Have followed "If you can't sign in to iMessage account or FaceTime on your Mac" and "If you get error when trying to activate iMessage or Facetime" guidances to no avail. Message on attempts to activate iMessage: "an error occurred during authentication." Message on attempt to activate FaceTime: "an error occurred during activation, try again." Any advice and guidance to identify and resolve my problems greatly appreciated!

facetime apple id i have a macbook air and have used facetime on it before but for a while now its been saying an error occurred during activation and i have no clue how to fix it

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to activate FaceTime on your Mac. To help with this, please follow the steps in this Apple resource on this situation and then contact Apple if you need further help.
