Call issue

hey, looking for help. My dad has an iPhone and I can hear the conversation from the other person on the call. Speaker not on but can’t find how to resolve this? Many thanks

Iphone 12 cant hear other end when answer calls Hi all, My partner recently brought an I phone 12 and recently when he answers a phone call he can not hear the person who has called. So he has to hang up and call them back, when he calls them back and they answer he can hear them fine so it doesn't have anything to do with the speaker. Unable to hear caller except when on speaker My husbandI can’t hear anyone who calls him unless he puts the caller on speaker. Whoever calls can hear him but he can not hear the caller. The only way to use his phone is through putting it on speaker mode. I have completely shut down the phone and have reset the phone. He has an IPhone XR.
