No power button is involved in Recovery except to turn it on, then command R

Boot into Recovery (Command R) and from the dropdown menu: Utilities>  Disk Utility> run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD. If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.

Recovery http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718

If you can not get that far Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

I have tried that but it won’t even go into Recovery mode anymore, it just comes up no keyboards found. The keyboard does not light up and the trackpad is not clickable or move cursor when i touch it.

I hope this is not the end of my laptop.

If the NVRAM and SMC did nothing for you, then In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
