2018 MacMini to LG OLED 4K TV via HDMI screen goes blank; tried Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter, can't get 4k at 60Hz only 30Hz

Following the conversation started by jjkim123go, on connecting LG 55" OLED TV to MacMini 2018 via HDMI and getting the same blank screen on the TV once I set it to "auto resolution", I tried Laurent Earth's suggestion of using a Thunderbolt 3 to HDMI adaptor to connect the MacMini to the TV. However, with this "fix," I can get 4K on the TV, but only at 30 Hz instead of 60Hz. At only 30 Hz, the TV movement is not perfectly smooth and has a slight flickering.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

The adapter I was using was one from Amazon that said 4K@30Hz in the heading, but also said 4K 60Hz in the description. Given your comment and this ambiguity, I ordered a new adapter that expressly said 4K@60Hz in the heading. It works. I can now get 4K @60Hz and no flickering.

Based Malcolm's post, I got a new adapter. The cable I was using said it meets the latest HDMI standards of 4K@60Hz, but it didn't explicitly say it was a 2.0 certified HDMI cable, so I got a new 2.0 cable just to make sure. After trouble-shooting with both the new adapter and the new cable, I narrowed the problem to the adapter. With the new adapter, both cables work.
