Buying a phone with Apple but keeping my same Verizon plan

That is exactly what I did with the three new iPhone XR’s that I bought for me, my wife and daughter back in December.

Our phones were out of contract and long paid off through Verizon. We went to an Apple Store, bought the new phones, the SIM cards were transferred from our old phones to the new phones by the Apple rep, and we were off and running. My current Verizon plan was not affected at all.

I assume that your current phone is paid off?

I think your Mom is going to need to arrange the paying off of the phone, unless you are over 18 and are listed on the account as an authorized user. Once the phone is paid off, you're free to add whatever phone you want to the account.

If you bought it through Verizon, I think you have to pay it off with them, as far as I know. What I don’t know though, is what your Verizon plan involves. Like I said, I was already out of the contract.
