Apple no longer selling time capsules?

I looked on the Apple site under storage and I no longer see time capsules available. What are you supposed to use now for backups that has wifi connectivity? I think I need to replace my 2TB flat top one as it several years old and will no longer do a daily back up of my macbook pro, although it works fine on my iMac.

I need at minimum a USB 3 drive that can be shared to two computers.

Hold down the option key on the MacBook Pro while you click on the Time Machine "clock" icon

Select Verify Backups

The process will take anywhere from 10-60 minutes depending on how much data is stored in the backup file. Let the process run until it completes successfully or until you see a message that the process cannot be completed. If an error message does appear, please post back with the exact text of the message.

Apple introduced the A1409 Time Capsule in June 2011 and discontinued the product in June 2013, so depending on when the Time Capsule was placed into service, the product is close to 6 years old and as much as almost 8. That being the case, I would not store data on the Time Capsule that I could not afford to lose unless I had a second backup on another drive.

If you do not need the WiFi signal that is provided by the Time Capsule, then it would probably make sense to turn off the WiFi function on the device.

Assuming the Time Capsule is now operating correctly, you can use the Comcast WiFi to back up over the Comcast wireless network or connect a Mac directly to one of the 3 LAN <--> Ethernet ports on the Time Capsule to connect to the network and back up that way.

Wait for the backup to complete first, before you make any other changes.

Open up AirPort Utility. It is located on your Mac as follows: Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the picture of the Time Capsule

Click Edit in the smaller window that appears

Click the Network tab at the top of the page and make sure that the Time Capsule is set up in a Router Mode of "Off (Bridge Mode)"

Click the Wireless tab at the top of the page and change the setting for Network Mode to "Off"

Click Update at the lower right of the window and the Time Capsule will save the new settings and restart
