External HDTV not working after 10.13.6 update

It looks like the same question as the topic

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8466498

but with my macbook pro 2011, none of the proposed solutions worked.

I have been connecting my macbook with the thunderbolt - HDMI cable to my Sharp Aquos TV for years and it has all worked perfectly. Instead now, after the "infamous" update 10.13.6 I can't connect the mac to the TV. I tried to connect it to a VGA monitor with the adapter and it works, but with the TV nothing to do. It doesn't detect it at all.

Has anyone encountered the same problem with HDTV?

You have the most up to date build for your model.

You can Try a SafeBoot in an effort to clear cache https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-10 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches, dynamic loader cache,  etc.  get cleared and rebuilt.

You can try and fall back with a Time Machine backup and restore your machine to regain connectivity.
