MS Office 64 bit compatibility

Trying to understand what I need to do about 64 bit compatibility. Do I need to buy a new version of MS Office?

Depends on what version you have now. If it's Office 2011 or older, then yes, you'll need to upgrade to a newer version. If it's Office 2016, 2019, or 365, then it's already 64 bit.

Note that even if you have 2011 or older, it's not necessary to upgrade until the OS to be released after Mojave. That upcoming OS will be 64 bit only. No 32 bit apps will run.
