Ipad Mini 1st Gen Applications

I have an Ipad Mini 1st Gen. Since the highest IOS allowed on this device is IOS 9.3.5, I am no longer able to download new applications or applications that I previously had on my device like Pages or Microsoft Word. I am unable to filter the applications in the App Store to show only apps compatible with my device and I'm unable to download previous versions of applications.

Is there a way to download previous versions of applications or do I just have an expensive paperweight now?

iOS 9 is approaching 3-years since it has been last supported by Apple.

Third party app developers are now more quickly moving away from iOS 9 and earlier versions of IOS.

This was coming and inevitable.

While many older versions of apps can still be obtained from the iOS App Store, many cannot, any longer.

Expect this to be a growing trend by app developers and for older iDevices as time moves farther away from older iOS versions.

That stated,

Older versions of apps may still exist in the iOS App Store, despite the fact the apps may have moved on to an higher minimum iOS version, now.

If you need older versions of apps that have moved on to iOS 10 and later, tap on my link below and choose the method that  best works with your current situation.

CAREFULLY read and follow ALL directions. Especially so for my computer/older iTunes procedures.

Any and all three of my procedures/solutions work!

Downloading Older iOS 9.3.5 Versions of A… - Apple Community

A Disclaimer.

Apps may or may not have older iOS 9.3.5 versions still available from within the iOS App Store.

There are three ways to try/attempt to get an older version of an app. Pick the method that works best for your situation/circumstances.

Good Luck to You!

Also, I would STOP using that nearly 3-year old Safari web browser, as it is, probably, not safe and secure to use any longer,  and seek out a third party web browser that is STILL currently being updated and STILL being supported on iOS 9.3.5.

Heed my advice on this issue in my above link.
