How to get rid of ellipses (three dots) in file names on Mojave?

beside the file type, mp3 apparently is included in the longer file name.

On my Desktop I can see relatively long filenames by using a tiny icon size and putting the labels to the right of the icons (label position: Right), and also using a large grid spacing as recommended by VikingOSX.

I did not disable the display of the filename extensions. I need to see them.

This is built into the Finder application and has been this way for several iterations of the operating system. On the Desktop, you can press ⌘-J and move the grid-spacing slider all the way to the right. If your filenames are not too lengthy, this may eliminate the ellipsis in the icon name issue.

You need to increase the size of the icon with the3 slider or reduce the size of the file name:

Or change to list view and make the Name column wider.

Optionally, to view the full filename, click the Desktop or Command+Tab to Finder and hover the pointer over the filename.
