Mac Mini 2012 Running 3 Displays Successfully

Thought I would pass this on.

I am successfully running 3 separate displays on my mac mini 2012 (macOS Mojave). Very very very pleased with the results.

-Dp> to DP Dell Ultrasharp U2417U (My Main display)

-HDMI> DVI adapter on display input (Second display a pawn shop Dell))

-J5Create dongle USB 3.0>VGA (Third display a pawnshop LG). No noticeable latency. No jitters or anything. J5 works really well with MAC. No noticeable degradation to any of the displays.

I initially had trouble with loading the J5 software correctly so it was recognized by my mini, but support provided very clear instructions and such.

The reason for using VGA, is that when already running DP and DVI displays, the mini recognizes and powers VGA better from it’s USB 3.0 port . Don’t know why, maybe it’s the extent of it’s capabllities.... I am clearly not a tech. But it worked for me.

Also, my mini is an i5, with 16 gb RAM and an EVO SSD.

Hope this helps someone that is contemplating this, with a Mac Mini 2012.

Best Regards

DonCarlosDon
