Siri can't find songs in my library

When I first got my HomePod a few months ago, everything worked fine. No Apple Music, but I do have iTunes match. Recently, I've noticed that most (maybe all) requests to play a specific song result with Siri telling me that she can't find that song in my library. But if I ask Siri to play the album that contains that song, she plays it no problem. It also works if I ask Siri to play specific playlists.


Any idea what's going on here? I've restarted the HomePod, which did not fix the problem.

Try unplugging the wifi router for a minute as well.

Close the music app on your iPhone so it’s not getting its wires crossed. You might also want to reset network settings on the phone as well to fix the wifi.

other than that there’s no real solution. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t! These are just kick- starts, so to speak.

Thanks for the suggestions. None of that seemed to fix it.


So I bit the bullet and reset the HomePod. Now it is worse. If I ask it to play a song by and artist, Siri say “sure, here’s some music by [artist]” and it is not the right song. Same for requesting album names by an artist. Siri can no longer find playlists either.


I’m probably going to have to call Apple support...

Called Apple Support and they walked me through resetting it AGAIN (after multiple attempts on my own), however they had me unplug the HomePod, plug it back in, and touch the top until it said it would reset and beep three times (which it did).


Then after setting it back up, it worked correctly again (after about 5 minutes of idle time, presumably to sync up data).


Hopefully this helps other people with the same issues.
