Got an inappropriate spam message sent to a group list (20). The report spam link does not appear when spammers send to a group. I can delete it and block the the original sender. Will that also block all the rest of the group that wants respond? And will that alert the slammer that my number is a working number?

To answer your questions, only the person/number that was blocked will no longer be able to leave messages. You'll want to continue blocking the other numbers from the group if you receive any messages.
