Sharing Photos to Facebook

Will Apple be developing a linkage to allow me to select a photo from my Photos and share it to Facebook? I believe this was possible in earlier versions.

Apple removed the ability to directly share to Facebook for security reasons, when Photos 4.0 on macOS 10.14 came out. We have to wait for their-party sharing extensions to be offered at he App Store. It is now up to Facebook to offer a sharing extension:

Share photos using other apps and websites in Photos on Mac - Apple Support

For the time being, start the upload to facebook from the Facebook website, and use the media browser in the file chooser dialog.

When you upload to Facebook you can see the currently used iPhoto Library and the System Photos Library in the Media Browser. You should be able to access your iPhoto Library directly from Facebook in the Media Browser. After clicking the "Photos/Videos" tab on your Facebook webpage, when the file chooser dialog appears, scroll down in the window, until you are seeing "Media" in the sidebar.

  • Click Media, then Photos
  • Wait for the Photos Library to appear.
  • Then click Photo and select the albums you want to open and select your photos.
