Microphone trouble in Final cut pro X v 10.4.6

Greetings!

With the latest version and update of Mojave the microphone in Final cut pro stopped working.

The USB microphone works just fine when tested in settings and used with other programs/apps.

The "sound bar" for recording is not moving at all. It is like Final cut X does not have allowance to use the microphone (and did not ask for allowance). I does not work with the built in (IMAC) microphone either nor when I connect an other microphone.

How do I fix this issue?
