imovie attach audio clip

I detached the original mono audio, created a stereo version of it, now I want to attach it to the original video clip. The reason is when is edit out cuts it only deletes the section of video and not the audio together. I need them to be connected so when I do my trims it trims the new audio and original video together

iMovie 11 (v9.0.4) Detached audio not following video edit Hi all -- To fix a lip-sync problem, I detached the clip's audio and moved it a bit later wrt the video. But I needed additional video editing in that clip. When I delete video within the clip, the matching re-synchronized detached audio does not delete as well. In other words, I can delete a speaker's video, but the audio of the deleted section stays in the timeline, wrecking the show. Is there a way to A) Re-attach offset audio to video for editing, or B) Edit the detached (sync'ed) audio to match the video. Thanks.

Detached Audio comes back into the Exported video in iMovie I Detached Audio in the timeline from a video that is over an hour long. I then deleted the audio. Then I exported it (using File > Share > File ...) with High quality setting and Better Quality Compression. I then sent the video to a colleague who was offended by all the cursing he heard me using offscreen in the video. That is what I was trying to cut out! I hope I don't get fired. Why does exporting it re-attach deleted audio? How do I permanently detach and delete audio if this is not how to do it? When I play the video in iMovie, I hear no audio and there is no audio track.

Replaced audio in Imovie and can't edit without deleting entire audio when I clip sections out Working in IMovie-I had to remove audio from a video that had issues and have it professionally corrected. When I removed the audio and replaced it with the fixed audio, it synced up fine. But when I attempt to cut out a piece of video, it ends up deleting the entire audio for the whole video. However, the video I’m editing is just the section I want removed. Would anyone have any idea if there is something I did perhaps when I added the new audio that is causing this?

Hi,

There is no feature in iMovie to reattach audio. However, the way you do it is to put the video and the audio you want to attach into a project created for this purpose. Then you share it out as a File to the desktop. That will leave you with a movie clip with the audio attached. Drag the movie into a new project and edit it.
