MacBook Air 2018 and USB Superdrive
How can I get my usb superdrive to work? I have a hub - and the message says - 'USB Accessory needs power. Connect Apple USB SuperDrive to a USB port on this Mac. Yeah, what port?? Any help appreciated!

Thanks-I was starting to see that. I’ve spent a small fortune on a hub after realizing all the things I needed to have to adapt. Any explanation as to why the SuperDrive needs to be directly connected?
You will need a proper adapter. Female USB-A to Male USB-C available at the Apple Store.
Because not enough power can be drawn through a hub. You need an external power brick for the drive in order to use it through a hub.
