Hi,
I'd like to use my iMac (21.5-inch, 2009) to extend the display of my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015). Is this possible?
I tried a mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter out of the iMac, connecting to HDMI on the MacBook, but there wasn't a single sign of connection.
Any ideas/help much appreciated!

I know "target display mode" is not an option. Connecting displays is a complex issue, and for all I know there are many options, and I wonder if anyone knows one, or has achieved it.
Thanks, but I believe that feature was introduced in 2009 for the 27" iMacs only. I tried it anyway, but it doesn't work.
That was my point. The requirements for target display mode are in the link I provided. Your computer does not meet the requirements so you can not use target display mode.
