Apple Music Sharing

Hello, I am having issues with Apple Music. I am part of a family sharing with apple music. However, I am unable to play music. Whenever i try to play a song, i am prompted to subscribe. i am logged into the apple id that was authorized to play music so i don't understand why i'm being asked to subscribe for a new apple music service.
