Voicemail

I recently changed carriers now don’t have visual voicemail.

I know the carrier tier supports it because my wife’s iPhone still has visual voicemail.

Online it it says tap voice mail then tap setup in the middle of the screen. In the middle of my screen it says call voicemail.

I changed the password but no help.

I called the carrier they told me to tap setup voicemail now when on the voicemail tab.

I told the the person there is no setup voicemail now. So they didn’t know how to do it.

Any help?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 12

First go to Settings/General/About and wait a few seconds to see if there is a carrier update (wait about 30 seconds; if nothing happens then you don't need a carrier update). Then call voicemail as instructed, and set it up the old-fashioned way by following the voice prompts. After you have voicemail working that way restart your phone as described in this link-->Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and visual voicemail should work. If it doesn't you need to contact the carrier's tech support and escalate the issue. You account must be configured for visual voicemail on their end.
