Removing gaps and joining split clips

Hello,

I'm editing an mp3 file in imovie (It's a lecture translation and I want to keep only the part of the speech which is in my native language).

So I've trimmed and deleted all parts that I don't need and ended up with lots of gaps.

Now I want to join all the clips into one, but the option is not available.

Is there a way to remove all the gaps automatically, rather than manually connecting the clips?

Thanks a lot!

The only way to remove the gaps is to share out the project with the File option as an Audio Only file. That will connect the audio segments into one clip in the shared out file. After you select Audio Only you will have an addition option to chose from various audio formats. If your lecture materials also include video, you can still share out as an audio only file, or you can share out as video-audio. The segments will still get connected in the final product.
