Steps using a walker

I got an Apple Watch 4 a couple of months ago & love it. But, I’m using a rollator walker for balance when I leave the house. I’m very active at the gym, shopping, driving, everything. But, I don’t think it’s counting all my steps. Is there something I’m not seeing on my watch that I need to activate? It tracks the time on the elliptical, rower & core exercise. But, I want all those steps tracked!! Any advice would be appreciated!

It's questionable according to this article...".If you need both hands while walking, for example to push a stroller, you can still earn Exercise credit with the Workout app. ... The Activity app relies on arm motion and an accelerometer to track movement, but the Workout app can use the accelerometer, the heart rate sensor, and GPS."
