Your computer restarted because of a problem

Hi all

Every day I wake my iMac from sleep and I have a message to say that "your computer restarted because of a problem"....and it's getting REALLY annoying!

Error code is

Stackshot Reason: Sleep transition timed out after 180 seconds while calling power state change callbacks.

Failure code:: 0x00000008 00000014

Can anyone help me find out why this is happening?

Thanks

I would first Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT20129

and see if this resolves your issue.

You do not specify what exact macOS you are running—however you postedin Mojave so lets assume macOS 10.14.

Verify your software is up to date 10.14.4 If not >System Preferences>Software Update

If you are current I would re-install the combo update on top of your existing combo update/ this leaves all user/data in place.

This has been known to resolve anomalies like yours not easily explained away.

Download macOS Mojave 10.14.4 Combo Update - Apple Support https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1996?locale=pt_BR

There is more to read and trouble shoot here:

Hi

Thanks for your replies and apologies for the delayed reply. I tried resetting smc pram etc but that made no difference. However, I think (think!) I may have solved it. I have been running a cloud backup service trial which I have decided not to continue with and since uninstalling the software I haven't had an issue. I didn't originally think this was a problem as I'd been running the service for a week before the restarts began.

So, at the moment, things seem to be ok.

Thanks again
