When I try to print a Safari page, I hear error sound and no print window opens

Why can't I print the Safari page? I'm at Staples.com. I just want to test my WiFi/printer, but noticed this problem. I'd like it fixe before I need to print from Safari. This is in Mohave, 10.14.4.
