MacBook Pro becomes unresponsive and screen shows grey lines

Hello everybody,

Occasionally, when I open my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), it is unresponsive and the screen shows grey lines (see image below).

The only way out is to restart the computer and then it works fine. But it is of course very annoying, especially in some professional settings.

It happens roughly every 100 times I open the laptop and I don't see any pattern (e.g., particular time of day, many apps open, or similar).

I looked around and didn't see anybody else having such a problem, therefore any advice would be much appreciated.
