Safari can’t open the page because the server where this page is located isn’t responding

After updates were done and my computer was rebooted overnight, nothing is working properly . I can’t get into my Mac mail says they are all off-line, anything I click on safari says it can’t open because the server where this page is located isn’t responding. The funniest thing is I can get on Facebook.

I’ve already been to my Internet accounts, Gmail is asking me to add my password and when I do it says can’t be verified.

Thanks, very frustrating.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. This usually happens when /etc/host/files are edited.

      Download EtreCheck    https://etrecheck.com/maspro.

      Click  “Click to download” button,

Open Downloads folder, click on it to open, and then select ”Open”.

“Choose a problem” from the popup menu box, and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy report” .

Paste the report when you reply if you wish.

Note: This is a diagnostic test.

      If 5000 words limit applies:

Split the report into two parts and post as two separate posts.
