iPhone SE died five times in a row!

I was at low battery, but it’s done the same thing before at a slightly higher percentage like 30, where it died and became 10, then died 4 more times and stayed at a constant 10%. This time I was at 10, it died and became 5, and died 3 more times consecutively staying at 5%. It was even in the charger! Why the heck does my iPhone SE keep dying multiple times in a row, even decreasing significantly in life percentage? It doesn’t happen very often but it’s done this 3 or 4 times now and it can be extremely annoying trying to do something and have it in an endless loop of dying.

Also is it just me or does the iPhone die when you take a picture at a low percentage? It’s never done that before until recently, very annoying when photographing wildlife.

iPhone SE, iOS 12

The symptom is most often caused by a failing battery. Especially if it's when using the camera, which is the app that puts the most demand on the battery.
