Is it possible to change immediately the colour of text in a Pages Document?
If I am commenting in red on a document that is mainly black text, and skipping paragraphs etc then making a comment.. it is very time consuming to keep opening up the side bar and click a different colour.
Is there anyway to assign a specific couple of colours - black green blue red - to a key stroke so that you can change the colour of the font quickly and easily?
With Pages v8.0, you can create character styles whose font is in black, green, blue, red or another arbitrary color. You can even assign F1 thru F8 keyboard shortcuts to these character styles. The particular recipient text must be pre-selected before you apply the character style.
Alternatively, you can leave the color globe open and pick these saved colors from stored favorites. In past versions of Pages, you could only pick one color per opened color picker panel, but apparently Apple has modernized Pages v8.0 so that one can select multiple colors from the color globe in one launch.

No I did not try your suggestion yet because I assumed from your answer that I needed to get Pages 8 - and didnt think to try my current version

Thanks for your help - but I am on Sierra 10.12.6 and Pages 8 cannot download.
Is there a way to do what you suggest on Pages 7.1 ?
Same functionality as described for Pages v8.0, also exists in Pages v7.1. Did you not try what I suggested in the older version of Pages?
