I have a problem with my Macbook pro 2010,
When I attempt to reset the bar will return to 80% full and then take aroubd 3 minutes to achieve full 100% but it will not get past this screen.
If anyone has any ideas what I can do please help I have some important docs left on this laptop and need to get into it.

Boot into Recovery (Command R) and from the dropdown menu: Utilities> Disk Utility> run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD. If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.

Do you recall what OS you are running? May be worth trying to boot into safe mode (hold the shift key down on boot) to see if that gets you past the loading bar. I would totally try disk first aid first though if you can get to that point.
