Best OCR, Native/free or purchased, for MacOS Mojave v 10.14.4, MacBook Air early 2014?

I have MacOS Mojave v 10.14.4, MacBook Air early 2014.

What is the native Optical Character Recognition (OCR). I was recently playing with it but can't seem it find it now.

Also what is the best OCR, Native/free or purchased?

Thank you!

Tom Gewecke, Thanks for your reply! Yes you are confirming what I found in my Google search. Seems like there should be a native OS app for OCR. I was thinking of the Continuity Camera, which is useful but limited. Then there is iOS app Google Lens, that can be used with MacOS, but I assumed an OS native app for OCR would perform better?

What would you recommend for MacOS OCR app, use: extracting text from labels, flat pages. I assume that I would be using MacOS OCR with iPhone iOS?

Thanks for your eyes and time!

Ok you suggest Have a look at PDFPen.

Re: MacOS and iOS are totally different, I get that. I should have explained myself in more detail.

I assumed that the typical use would be to use the iPhone camera to take a photo and/or scan a doc/label, then transfer the scanned doc file to the MacOS app, and then edit the scanned doc file with the MacOS app; at least that's the way I envision the process. Can you suggest a better approach?
