Wireless charging

Is wireless charging compromised if the rear screen screen is cracked on an iphone x ?

although the phone has been in a protective case, the rear screen has become cracked. Unsure how as it hasn't been dropped or outside of the case. i have tried numerous wireless chargers and unable to get the phone to charge using this method

It’s hard to offer an informed view on this because of the unknowns, but if you haven’t dropped the device then the other possibility is it’s been bent somehow, probably while in a pocket.

If that’s the case then the force required to crack the back glass may have also done damage to the wireless charging section, but whatever the reason this isn’t a cheap repair because the entire device has to be stripped down to replace the rear glass.

You may consider the cost too high if the device is otherwise running ok and charging via cable.

It could have something to do with the case for charging. Some cases will not allow wireless charging through the case. Try removing the case and see if it will charge. It has to be a Q1 compatible wireless charger. Also, if the back glass on the phone is cracked, I suggest making a Genius Bar appointment to get the phone replaced. They cannot fix and replace just that glass, the entire phone has to be replaced, and that would be an out of warranty replacement.
