wall power outlet for my new ipad 5 generation

My wall power outlet is vary hot during charging my ipad 5 is it normal

iPad mini, iOS 12

Very Hot (not just gently warm) indicates a problem. You don't say clearly if you mean the wall mounted power socket is getting hot, or the charging adapter. Whatever, it should not get hot.


If the socket itself is getting hot unplug the power adapter and examine the pins which connect to the socket, looking for signs of overheating or sparking (pitting). If it looks OK try a different wall socket.


If it is just the power adapter getting hot, try a different power adapter with USB connector for the Lightning cable. Genuine Apple is recommended for long term, but any other adapter will do for testing.
