I'm just bringing up my new MacBook with an external display, wireless keyboard and track pad. One annoying feature is that Safari on the MacBook prompts me for my computer password every time to autofill a password on a website. I have to fill in the password or open the laptop to use touch id. How can I turn this feature off?

In my system preferences there is no option to Uncheck Safari Autofill. If I uncheck the 3 option available, Safari stops asking for the touch ID but asks for the computer password instead which is so annoying. I want to turn them both off
I don't know why you don't have the option. Maybe an OS upgrade would give it to you. I am running Mojave 10.14.4. If you are running that level of OS and still don't have the option, you may need to contact support.
My Macbook pro has Touch Id. And I can get the Safari touch ID to stop by unchecking the 3 options I have, but Safari then asks for my computer password everything which is as annoying. I will upgrade to Mojave soon and see. I am on High Sierra now so maybe that's it. Thank you!
I'll answer my own question. There is a setting in System Preferences TouchID. Uncheck Safari AutoFill.
If your computer isn't Touch ID capable, the option doesn't exist.
