On my phone calendar missing on iphone

After syncing with my Mac ‘on my iPhone’ calendar has disappeared. iCloud sync is ok.

iPhone 8, iOS 12

Thanks for the quick reply which partially helps.

I hadn’t realised that the “on my iPhone” calendar had disappeared as the iCloud calendar entries were syncing ok. Therefore, my last backup wouldn’t have the “on my iPhone” calendar either. If I restore from the very old backup (5 months ago) I’m worried that I’ll lose months of calendar entries, contacts and new apps etc.

Thanks for the help. I think I’ll have to bite the bullet and restore from the old backup. This is the first time I’ve used Apple communities and I’m so pleased with the quick and helpful replies.
