Changing Apple ID associated with an iPhone within 90 days

I just got my son a new phone and absentmindedly signed in with my Apple ID. Though I don’t have text sharing on in either phone, he’s getting all of my texts I’m sending to others and not getting all I send to him. I made him a new Apple ID and it reminded me I can only change the ID associated with the device once every 90 days. Is there a fix for this? If I factory reset his phone will that help? Please help!

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 12

You must wait the 90 days. There is no workaround for this. It is a content rights protection measure. It's not just signing in that triggers it. You must have done something from this list.
